Together We Can Improve Lives and Build Healthier Communities.
We provide essential healthcare services, emergency medical support, and outreach programmes to underserved communities across Bangladesh.
Our focus is to deliver emergency and routine healthcare services that are free or low-cost for the poorest, affordable for low-income groups, and sustainably funded. We respond quickly in crises, build lasting partnerships, and raise awareness so communities can protect themselves.
“Prevention is better than treatment. Creating awareness could make a huge difference and this is one of the core objectives of our charity.”
— One Pound Hospital Team
Humanitarian emergencies are a constant reality, and £1 Hospital responds quickly to provide medical aid during disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and droughts. We also support orphans and helpless elderly with care and compassion.
Our focus is to deliver emergency and routine healthcare services that are free or low-cost for the poorest, affordable for low-income groups, and sustainably funded through paying patients. We also provide disaster relief, residential care support, and advocate for better healthcare response and protection in crisis situations.
The £1 Hospital is calling on you to lend your voice to its initiative to build One Pound General Hospital providing free healthcare support to the poorest — called “Donate Your Voice For The Poorest”. You may use your own social and print media and appeal to friends, family and audience. Your suggestions and thoughts are important to us.

Unity is power and it is in fact a tested way to overcome challenges to reach the goal. We welcome any one or organisation to work together to make a change to the poorest people’s lives in healthcare. If you have the same goal, please contact us and we can explore how we could work together.
‘Partnerships are about recognising the value in each other’ (Dr Hugh Annett 2012)
Prevention is better than treatment. It’s very important to develop awareness in the community to deal with basic healthcare. In the rural areas of Bangladesh there are still significant gaps in awareness which even costs lives.
Having practiced for more than 26 years at Biswanath Sylhet, our CEO shares experiences of deaths caused by illness blamed on supernatural causes. Creating awareness could make a huge difference and is one of the core objectives of this charity.
